On the way to Delphi, after the city of Livadia, we will stop at one of the most important Byzantine monuments in Greece, the monastery of Saint Luke. It was built in the 11th century at an altitude of 430m and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Then, before we reach Delphi, we will meet one of the most enchanting villages in mountainous Greece, the cosmopolitan Arachova, which has many cafes and shops with local products as well as views that will leave you breathless.

After a while we reach Delphi. Delphi is the first destination of our special two-day trip. The archaeological site of Delphi remains from Ancient Greece to the present day, one of the most famous, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During our tour of the archaeological site, you will admire the ancient Delphi Theater, with a capacity of 5,000 seats, as well as the Delphi Oracle, the most famous oracle not only of Ancient Greece but also for the rest of the then known world.

The site built by the Delphic Oracle was considered by Jupiter as the navel of the earth (centre of the world). Our tour also includes the Temple of Apollo, the treasure of the Athenians, as well as the discovery of the remains of the archaeological site.
After the tour is over, we will have lunch at a local restaurant and after finishing we will depart for the hotel in Delphi village for our overnight stay.

At the start of the second day, after a good breakfast, we will depart for the city of Kalambaka, where on arrival we will meet the Meteora, a miracle of nature that will take your breath away. The view of the imposing rocks, with an average altitude of 313m, as well as the view from the top, will give you an unforgettable experience. Meteora, besides its natural beauty, is a very important monument of Orthodoxy as it is the second-largest monastic centre of Greece after Mount Athos. Historically, there were thirty monasteries.

Today, six of them are in operation, which they have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, since 1988. Before visiting Meteora, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the imposing rocks. After lunch, we will visit a monastery of Meteora where you will get to know the ascetic life of the monks and enjoy the magnificent view.
After our visit to the monastery, we will depart for the hotel in the city of Kalambaka where we will stay overnight.
The next morning, before leaving for Athens, we will visit another monastery of Meteora. Shortly thereafter, before leaving the city of Kalambaka for Athens, lunch will follow.

Returning to Athens, after the city of Lamia, we will visit the historic Thermopylae wherein 480 BC the famous battle of Thermopylae between the Greeks and the Persians took place. Leonidas, the Spartan king, died in this battle, where he fought with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and 80 Mycenaeans, all of whom were killed in battle.
